I quickly cut the tag from blue card stock and made the flower per Autumn's instructions from simple light blue card stock that I stamped with a music sheet stamps. I chose to cut two sizes of petals rather than one and then attached a big pearl embellishment in the middle. I had a remnant of GlitterRitz'ed card stock from the Scrapfest, which I attached on a larger green piece, topped off with a ribbon that came with the cool Mom metal accent in the Mother's Day kit. The metal butterfly I pinned on the flower came in the same kit. I had some Doodlebug glitter floss and that was it. It will be great on mom's present!
More challenges from CK Club on NSD! This one was put together by Autumn, who demonstrated a cool flower making technique. This challenge resulted in yours truly nabbing a super duper prize. I am so looking forward to getting my new goodies!! I loved all the challenges and did quite a bunch so now it's time to post. I had a blast making this frame thinking of my sweet baby niece. It was super easy and for once I did not mind the fussy cutting. A while ago when INVU closed I nabbed a couple of gorgeous books with high end wallpaper samples. When I saw Stacey's challenge I thought "how great, I get to play with flowers!" So I decoupaged my way around a simple Michael's frame with the wallpaper, then added a quick ruffled trim from Webster's and a metal butterfly accent that came in a Mother's Day kit. Done! As I was reading this challenge late last night I was thinking "why don't I use my stamps anymore"? I think I like all my new Cricut cartridges so much that stamping does not seem as much as fun as it used to... or at least not for titles. What I have to remember is that I can use the stamps to emboss, add flocking or glitter... lots of possibilities! This was a great way to prompt me to make progress on Alex's baby album and I think (fingers crossed) that by the end of the week if I follow through on all the challenges I started yesterday i will have completed two albums and a few mini projects. Maybe it was just the kick in the pants that I needed! |
